Might be able to negotiate with my dad when we get a quad of our own. I just won't tell him about the jetski part of it. he might freak when he sees me go into the water with one

I've seen that video before. It looks like that suspension & ground clearance would blow for a quad. Beach riding could be interesting I guess. I'll stick to a quad and/or a jetski.

Yeah.... I remember seeing that thing in 2006 when it was posted.... no travel, slower on land than on water.... impractical really. Thumbs down

pretty much what you would expect. jack of all trades, master of none, and double the price of all of them combined.

Very niche specialty market, search/rescue maybe. Even then you need something that goes through swamp type conditions, this beast is either mild offroad or good water only. Taking it through 1 foot deep bog/mud conditions is going to leave you with one really heavy stuck 4 wheeler, where a regular ATV might have gone right through. Or try to go over a single stump or rock, and goodbye fiberglass hull.

It's novel but that's about it. It looks heavy, wide, slow and impractical to me. Not to mention I bet it costs a mint.

On a side note, I wonder if that commercial was intended to air in some other country. It's rare to see an ATV on film with unprotected riders in it. Not that I always wear gear mind you, it's just rare to see it on film.

It might be ok for the navy seals so long as they have roads to drive on once they hit the beach. Otherwise the attraction is limited to being different, not all the functional.

Might as well just buy one of the best ATVs out there and the 2010 260 hp seadoo. Best of both worlds, and your still pretty much under 30k.

Sure - $46K - but think of all the money you'd save buying fenders for it when you tie up to the dock.

My uncle had one of those Amphicars in the sixties. Like this thing, it was intriguing but made a poor car on the road and a poor boat on the water.

He did get a kick out of driving it down the launch ramp and straight into the lake when there was a crowd around, though.

It'd be perfect for getting away from anything. Criminals would line up for this product
