So my newish to me boat has been cranking long for starts so I gave it a look over. I found the ignition wires crossing each other, the coil wire crossing some plug wires, plus a bit loose in the coil tower. I rearranged the wires so none were leaning on electronics or each other. Then I grabbed my daughter and had her pump the throttle once while I looked down the carburetor bore. Confirmed there was a nice stream of gas. Left it at one pump, put on the muffs, cranked it and it lit on half a turn.
Lesson learned, be fussy. It actually can help!

Nice to hear she is firing right up, but if crossed wires were causing an issue you might want to think about replacing the wires

I think the coil end seemed like it came out too easily. Maybe it wasn't seated before I started. The wires on there seem nice and supple, but now that you mention it the boots aren't as grippy as new, so they probably are tired.
