Check out this Brown Trout!

My Daughter caught this one in a local lake yesterday from her canoe.

Her canoe has a MinnKota on it. She trolls slow and almost always uses a Xmas tree and a 1/2 inch piece of worm. This fish was caught with that same setup.

They didn't have time to weigh it for fear of it being out of the water too long after the pics were taken. But they did measure it at 21 inches and returned the fish to the water unharmed.

She said she might retire the rod and reel it was caught with and hang it below a blown up picture of her trophy catch

Keep in mind that this is not a Lake Trout which can grow huge. This is a Brown Trout which more like a Rainbow Trout. I thought it was a Walleye or a Pike when she first showed me the pic. I couldn't believe it was a Brown Trout.

Nice fish. Kudos to her for releasing the fish. There would be a lot more nice fish if more people would CPR (Catch, picture ,release}

that a nice brown trout from a small body of water, they get bigger in larger bodies of water though. We catch one once in a blue moon while salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. last year we had one in the 8# range.
