Cheap boat

This is on my local Craigslist...300 or best offer.The floor is out and stringers rotten.
Looks like an old Ford engine..888 Merc outdrive
Owner says engine is good..
Should i or shouldn't i?

out side looks nice. the out drive is worth more than $300.00. that the motor in the for ground for it ? i do not think it's a marine engine. whit the clutch pressure plate on it. looks like a aluminum hi rise intake in it. sell the manifold . give the hull away sell the trailer . then buy a boat , trailer that does not need that much work . that is if you do not mind doing a that much work it needs

How much time do you have to repair it? How much are you willing to spend on repairs? How bad do you REALLY want this boat?

restored you won't make any money on it. parting it out you may. i would pay $150-200 for the trailer. outdrive if not cracked is money. that motor looks bad. windshield $200. railings ladder $100.

The seller didn't say if that was the motor or not.
I think its more work than i want to get into.I was thinking sell the motor and outdrive,junk the boat and build me a utility trailer out of the boat trailer..
I may go look at in one afternoon this week.
