86 Johnson 50 50TLCDE. It has the CD2 ignition system. I see no voltage rise (~12 volts) at the battery terminals around 2000 rpm. The tach still works fine and the engine runs fine. Rectifier, most likely? Puck lookin thing with 1 yellow 2 yellow/blue stripe in and 1 red out. Part #OA11U20 maybe. How do I proceed from here guys? Am I on the right track?

Yo fishnfun:<br />I think you're on the right track. So much so, that I need you e-mail address....or take a educated shot in the dark and replace the rectifier.(not my style)

Re: charging problem

Schematic, thanks for the email info. It told me what I needed to know. It all checked out OK and is charging now. I don't know if I "fixed" a bad connection in the process or what. I think I may have an intermittent open in the hot lead between the rectifier and the battery. Check the simple stuff first, huh. I appreciate the help.
