charging off a 18hp evinrude

Hello... Im going camping for 5 days and need a way to charge my deep cycle for the trolling motor... can I run a tap off my engine ( 1967 18hp evinrude) to charge the deep cycle??? any body heard of this. The engine is pull start with no elec. Does have remote mounting for steering and throttle... so Im assuming elec starting would be an option and there fore so would batt chagring....<br /><br />Jim

jbutter,<br /><br />I know they made alternator kits for the 20 and 25. I think the 18 is basically the same engine.<br /><br />Call a John/Rude dealer and have your model # and serial # handy. If there is one, they'll tell you. The kits are not cheap but it will add a whole new dimension to your engines capabilities, lights, etc.
