Charging a deep cycle

Hey there, so I recently purchased a battery charger Shumacher "Ship n' Shore" from Walmart. I have a 4 month old Durlast 24MD-DL battery. My charger has three options for charging standard, agm, and gel. I called the people at autozone that sold me the battery and they said that it is gel. So can it be charged on standard or is it going to make a difference between choosing one over the other? Does anybody know what type of battery it is? Sometimes the younger employees in these stores tend to not know what they're talking about. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I figured the kid was wrong. If I had selected Gel on the charger would there be any negative effects?

I also have a Schumacher Charger.
Selecting Gel limits the peak voltage on the charger to 14.5 volts.
Regular cells get the voltage pushed to 16 volts at the beginning of the charge.

Selecting GEL to charge a regular flooded cell battery would just make the charging take a lot longer.
Generally not a bad thing.

Regular charging of a Gel cell battery will cook it!
The higher voltage produces more out gassing than the Gel Cell could handle and the case would likely fracture.

If the battery has vent caps that you add water to; it is not a gel cell.
Gel cells are not maintainable; once the water is gone, the battery is a goner also.
