I just posted about my starter, but wanted to post this seperately.
Please bear with me as I will try to explain as best I can.
I have 30' fairliner with a 350 in it.
I have to replace a gasket where the tranny meets the shaft, that goes through the bottom of the boat.
I'm not sure what that gasket is called but the previous owner said that it needs replacing cause it is leaking tranny fluid.
Question is: how big of a job is it to do this. He said I have to take the tranny off and disconnect the four bolts which connect to the shaft to the tranny.
He said it is not that big of a job.
Well, I have never taken apart a tranny before.
What is involved, or should I just have a mechanic do it?
I want to do it myself, I just don't know how big of a job it really is.
Anybody ever replaced this gasket I am talking about?
Should I get a manual for this or do they even make them?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bro Chris...
