I have a 3.0 gs mefs Volvo with an SX -M drive w/ a ratio of 2.15. I also have another SX-M drive with a ratio of 1.51. What do I need to change to make the 1.51 ratio compatible with the 2.15?
You would need to replace the gears and bearings in the lower unit. Sounds easy, but you need a bunch of special tools in order to get the proper gear contact, bearing preload, and backlash settings if you want the drive to last more than a few outings.
