I just purchased a 1991 Rivera 220 deckboat. It has a 5.0LK 305 Alpha1. My question is the power steering/ trim fluids have never been changed and I'am not having any problems. Should I change the fluids? Thanks JPW.

Re: Changing power steering/ trim fluids

I wouldn't change them unless they made me suspect of them for a particular reason. ie: smelling burnt, contaminated with water, or failure of the component, making changeout nessesarry. Sometimes it's best to leave sleeping dogs lie, rather than making more work for yourself with what could prove to be a frozen fitting or just more of a messy job than you really wanted to do.
