Is there an easy way of changing the plastic water pump tube coming through the transom assembly inside the boat or do you have to pull the outdrive off. It is a 1987 454 mag with a 1987 alpha one outdrive. I have attached a pic to show the plastic tube I am wanting to change. Mine is no longer round and hose is blowing off This is not my pic, mine would not upload. Got this one off the web but it is the white plastic tube in the picture held in with the plate and two bolts

outdrive and bell housing is usually necessary to access the hose and clamp

Maybe if you are lucky you can pull the drive, remove the bellhousing pivot bolts and see if the bellhousing can be wedged far enough out of the way to sneak in there. You might have to get the shift cable out to do that. But if the bellows is ready to change, you'll want to pull the bellhousing.

It sounds like you are wanting to replace the tube - not just the hose. In that case, you will have to remove the plate from the inside of the boat that is held on with two bolts. Then you will pry out the rubber bushing. Then the tube can be removed and replaced. There is also a copper version of the tube as well.
