I've put about 450 hours on my 1993 Evinrude 200 Ocean Pro using OMC lube. My buddy says I should switch to Yamalube. Says he did and says his motor runs better and with less smoke. We both premix in our tanks @ 50:1 - VRO disconnected.

I just used my last gallon of OMC lube and was considering switching but I have a half tank (approx 60 gallons) left. Any issues with going ahead and changing or should I try and burn out what I have before I change? It's our annual trip and I'd rather go ahead and fill up tank before we drop her in the water for the week. We'll use 80 gallons or so next week.

Anybody made a similar switch and any experience - good or bad?? I just decarbonized with Yamaha spray into the intakes last week so hopefully it is pretty clean and the new oil won't dislodge anything.

Thanks for any input you can offer.
