changing impeller on a1990 vro40 hp evinrude

I haven't change out the impeller yet on this outboard I was wondering how hard it is,I have the manuals the only thing that I am unclear about is the shift rod where to disconnect it it really is clear where it is.

The shift rod is disconnected by removing the shift rod screw from the port side of the engine, just below the carburetors.
