I would like to change to a larger tire like 8" to 12". But my trailer is 50 years old and in good shape. The hubs on it it now are center bolted (no lug nuts). I have been unable to any rims that work that way. Would there be a way to convert to a 4 or 5 bolt hub?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... If the Axle matches any of the available hub bearings, Sure, just swap 'em out...

If the Axle don't match any of the available hubs, 'n bearings,...
You'll have to swap out the Whole axle, 'n hubs...

Re: Changing Hub

If the axle happens to have 1-inch diameter spindles then hubs with 1-inch inner and outer bearings may work. However, the spindle must be of a length that allows the proper bearing preload and it must also have a raised seal area at the back that matches the standard seal. Your best bet is to visit a suspension specialty shop and ask for their advice.

That's probably the best advice. I got a new axle and hubs for a 2000 lb rated trailer for under $150.

Re: Changing Hub

The real old hubs may match the newer ones but it isn't likely and the amount of hunting down parts and seals isn't worth it and a new axle with hubs is a lot cheaper and easier. This link should help
