Changing fuel filter ( water seperator) on fuel injected 05 Mercreiser 5.0

On carb. engines I have had I always had to fill the filter with gas befroe I installed it. This one is mounted upside down, how do I prime it?

Hi there, welcome to iboats!

The filter you see upside down on the upper right corner as you face the engine is the oil filter not the fuel filter. You won't need to prefill the oil filter that sits upside down.

The fuel filter should be on the lower left corner as you're facing the engine inside the boat. depending on what design fuel system you have, the fuel filter may look like the oil filter or they started using a different design filter in 2005 that you may have....Post your engine serial number and we may be able to help find the correct parts you have on your engine model.

Fuel filter will self prime. In a carb motoe, you won't notice any stumble. In an efi motor, you will get a second or two of engine stumble

The fuel filter is inside the Fuel Supply Module, since you have a Bravo you'll want to buy item numbers 26 and 21.
