Re: changing from tiller to remote control
I have a Johnson 30 that was a tiller and I changed it to remote. You will want to check with your dealer for a kit that will allow you to do so. It can be easy or hard, depending on how much you want to be able to do at the remote. On mine I can steer, adj throttle, and shift gears. It will be more difficult if you want to start, kill, or choke the engine. I just used the controls from an old merc that I had and some imagination and it wasnt hard at all.
