I was told I needed to get a bushing kit to switch over to a stainless so I bought a XHS 102. The prop is a used prob but I got it for $50 from a buddy so who can resist. I have a 1996 mercury 200hp. When I went to put it on I realized that the metal piece you insert into the front of the prop that matches up with the spline on the shaft would not fit because there is a similar application already in the prop but theres no grooves bend the lockring down on. Any ideas? Is that old "sleeving" removable out of the prop?

We'll assume the prop you bought has the old style pressed in rubber cushion hub, not the newer changable type hub system. What is the prop hubbed for now? If it has a Yamaha hub it should still work. If it has an OMC hub it may or may not. You can buy the castle spacer, no problem.

it does have a rubber cushion style and I bought an XHS so I'm guessing it won't work? If I can buy a castle spacer for this setup where would it go?
