I have been doing alot of research on upkeep of my opti because shes getting old. It has about 1700hrs on it and has already had the injectors done once. I have read that a fairly common issue that can go after 500-800 hrs is the air compressor and the air compressor rod/bearings. I have read that changing the connector rod and bearings is a smart fix that is cheap (~60$) compared to the replacement of the whole unit (~1000-1500$).

So my question is, has anyone done this fix? Is it difficult? and can you take out the compressor fairly easily?

I'm not that experienced with powerhead and compressor fixes but I can do most other maintenance things without an issue

If anyone has any thoughts or tips on any part of the repair let me know ill take any help.

FYI if anyone is looking for the conn/rod kit part number for the optimax its 833146TO6
