Hi there again, fellow iboaters!
I got another question: a friend is thinking of changing the 3.0 volvo for a 3.0 merc - the problem is in the sterndrive. He currently owns an OMC that he wants to ditch, and he also has a 3.0 volvo that runs (without the sterndrive). Buying a new SX sterndrive would be quite expensive, so he's considering to change the volvo so it would fit to a merc sterndrive and get a SEI. What would have to be changed in order for this to work?
If he would ask me - the block is the same, alternator, starter,... What he would need to change is the coupler, the manifold / riser, the mechanics for the shifting cable is missing (interruptor) - aaand what else?
