changin the outdrive gear oil question..

hello there 1996 alpha one gen 2 outdrive with a gear oil reservoir in the back part of the boat, I already drain the oil from outdrive Im ready to pump the new oil my upper drain plus have been removed, the cap on the oil reservoir is open, I just have to pump oil until gear oil start coming out from the top drain plug or keep pumping until I have oil coming out from the reservoir thanks...

Pump the oil in until it comes out the upper vent (drain) plug. Put in the plug, then continue pumping until the gear lube gets into the reservoir. At that point, put in the drain plug and then fill the reservoir to the full line by pouring into the reservoir through the open cap.
