Hi all,

I have a VP 5.7 GSI (Model WT from 99). This weekend I broke the circulation pump (not the raw water pump) and the boat (Four Winns 268) is sitting in the water (Salt). I am going to change the circulation pump but I am nervous if I will flood the boat after removing the circulation pump or if only a gallon of water or so will empty out into the bilge from the block and manifolds.....The boat is raw water cooled so I do see the scenario . Anyone out there having tried this ? - Do I have to bring her up on land prior to this exercise.... Thanks for information.

should not be a problem as the engine should be a lot higher than the water level . get something to plug the raw water hose with when you take it loose . make sure your bilge pump works before you start ! you should only have a couple of gal of water come out of the block and hoses.

No need to plug the hoses. Just pull the pump, and change it out.
