Central Florida Dealer Recommendations?

Hey All -

Looking for some recommendations on reputable dealers in the Central Florida area. I will be in the market to buy a used boat (most likely a CC/Bay) in the upcoming months after I got burned on a deckboat purchase at GT Marine in Clermont, FL...many lessons learned. I have already created my own multi-page checklist/questionnaire for the next go around, but would like to see if there is any community input for this area. I will also happily take advice on businesses to avoid. The more input I have during this research phase, the better.

Thanks!

I just bought a '07 Sea Ray 185 Sport bowrider on a new trailer from Florida Family Marine in Deland. It was a good experience and was painless.

They were on my short list thanks. They seem to provide more boat info up front than the other dealers, including compression tests, service history, and videos. Appreciate the input!

They didn't budge much on price, but according to me credit union, the price was lower than the value. Enough that they financed 100% when they normally require 20%.

I will be doing a cash deal when the time comes, but thanks. I am already prepared to walk away if price is non-negotiable. Anyone else with dealer recommendations in this area?

Sometimes non-negotiable prices are good prices. Don't walk just because it is non-negotiable, but walk if it is more than you want, or are willing, to pay ...

Well I just assume I'll be looking at a consignment and most dealers I have spoke with, expect there to be "wiggle" room. Unfortunately after getting screwed so bad on the first purchase I will likely be waiting around for that steal of a deal for that seller that needs a fast sell. Seems like I want the stars to align, but the fact is I will pull the trigger on the right deal.

However if I find one that is firm on the price and I really want it, you bet I'll be back on here for input!

the better deals are in south Florida, I don't do dealers but if you know what to look for than you wont get burned. a good hour on the water and check every thing out even if you need to give a C note for fuel.

Well, the situation has evolved a bit. A co-worker's relative is offering me a deal on a 2003 19' Pathfinder with a Yamaha 115 (<300 hrs) for 12k. If I can get my boat sold, I may be able to avoid the dealer route entirely.

Is it the 1806 or the 1900 model? Made by Maverick Boat Co. Don't know much about them, but they do LOOK nice.

What equipment goes with it? Any fun electronics? Top?

It's the 1900. Has a Bimini top, trim tabs, jack plate, and minn Kota TM. I'll have to replace the GPS/fishfinder, but its pretty much good to go. Oh, I'll also add a cooler seat in front of the center console.

Seems a little high in price, but then again, I am not looking at the boat an motor. If it is exception, and if you are happy with it, then that is really what matters ... good luck!
