Centerbolt valve covers needed for MERC.

Hello all.... I am looking for replacement center bolt valve covers for my 1990 mercruiser 5.7<br />Parts express says they are NLA...<br />Any ideas??? Can I use regular chrome valve auto covers on it???<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Tallman

iv'e had 25 dollar crome valve covers from pet boys on my engine for a couple of years now and have not had any problems.. my boat is in fresh water. around salt water i would think the crome covers would rust pretty quick.......

The G/M auto covers are the same as marine when omc/ merc or whoever buy a g/m enging they dont make special covers. usualy they only use one, The one with the fill cap and just 180 the other side for breather. so aftermarket or gm are the same just use rubber gasket not coork!

hey tallman i would use the auto valve covers i dont think they would cause any problems...ike the other person said just dont use the cork gasket....use the rubber........<how the boat doing??.... i changed impeller runs good stays cool thanks to all who helped>

Why do you need new valve covers? Loose them? <br /><br />As was said above...They will work just fine. Just match up a set like you have at the autoparts store and go have fun. <br /><br />Or go to a junk yard and get used ones.
