Cell phone gps

i'am in the market for a new phone and was wondering if anyone has a good gps in their phone. Not expecting to use it as a chart plotter but was wondering if they can show speed over ground and course? I have T-Mobile now and like the coverage and will check with them but I can change providers because I'am at the end of my contract.

iPhone 3G or 3Gs.

Full chart apps available. I use the Navionics app for five bucks.

Many free apps available to provide course, speed and other data. Must see to believe.

I use my blackberry curve with telenav for all my road based gps needs. never thought to turn it on while on the water.
