Hello all!

So I have taken the leap and bought my first boat at nearly 40 years old. I have minimal boating experience but am quick to learn. I am looking for anyone in my area who'd be willing to go out with me while the weather is cool and the lake is less crowded and show me the ropes. I have a 99 Bayliner Capri 2050 that is currently undergoing an engine swap due to the previous owner not winterizing it. I am planning on being ready for the water within two weeks. Go by a marina on a lake on which you're planning to boat and ask the same question. Also, check for "safe boating" courses being held in your area. The folks holding the classes might be able to hook you up with someone.

Thanks for the info. I have at least one guy I work with if our shifts work out that can head out with me, and I am sure plenty of friends willing, but of course would prefer someone with more knowledge than I.
