Can any body tell me any benifits gained by CDI ignition over Points condencer systems?<br />The cost for CDI is ten times that of points, but is it ten times better?<br />Remember water and electric -------

Hello Splasher,<br />CDI ignition offers several advantges over the points system. 1.No moving parts to wear out due to friction or spark 2.greater voltage to the plugs (hotter spark),these two are the greatest advantages.<br />The old point system was user friendly. It took me a long time to understand why anyone would get rid of a good system like that.
