Re: cavitation

so, is it a good idea to change the existing impeller housing with one that can use the plastic liner so that it could easily be relpaced??

Re: cavitation

Not aware of any that are available for that ski// most of those use a aluminum impeller and it is only good for a few years , I would replace the impeller with a stainless one and if the pump housing is corroded behind the liner it will bulge it and make contact with the impeller wearing the edges down, that section of the pump is made to be replaced and isn't really expensive the ski will act like a new one if you take care of the problem. if it is used in salt water you can be sure it has corroded behind the liner and a zinc anode should be added to the ride plate to prevent this in the future.

believe it or not they were using that ski, when I replaced the impeller it gained 10 mph top end , for info s b t is now selling pump wear ring sections for yamaha pumps.
