I have a 1990 650 waverunner III, I bought it used, and after running it for a short bit I noticed a total loss of power, rpm's up but power gone. I measured the implerer and I got just about the limiys on the the prop. I had checked the alignment on the motor to pump and all is good. I guess what I am asking is the impellar//housing shot or am I experiencing more than a worn out drive? A friend has one a year newer with after market impellar/exhuast and I can keep up to him once I can get out of the hole and get moving, I als experience severe power loss in turns towing a small one man tube. Any help would be thanked.

Mark

Re: cavitation, waverunner III

look at the pump liner for bulges in it and cracks in the housing that it sits in, that section of the pump is made to be replaced for about 200 bucks, it sounds like your pump is bad or the impeller is worn out . If I remember correctly those had aluminum impellers and if so replace it with a stainless one the aluminum ones wear out .
