I know anti ventilation plate...don't hate.
But on my Gen 2 Alpha 1 I have found a pretty big crack. It's on the upper plate on the port side and extends about 5" forward from the bolt that joins the halves. As it goes forward it curves out til it gets to the edge. And to make matters worse it's offset about 1/4 inch. Meaning the cracked part is 1/4" higher than the main part of the fin.
Here's my question. Would you stop me warming up the plate with a plumbers propane torch just enough to straighten the plate? Then I'll JB it or take it to a guy that does TIG welding in the next town. I don't see any reason not to, but since I haven't seen anyone else with this problem I thought I'd put it out there in case I am missing something.
