cavitation issue

Sorry for another post about my prop, but I took out the boat today with the whole family and loaded up to get a check on the rpms. Again I got a 03 ,merc 115 4 stroke running a 16p vengeance. Like posted before motor runs right at 6000 rpm 41mph with all the people and gear, but like I said it cavitates, especially in the midrange, and sometimes it takes it quite a few seconds to grip. I am not sure what to do I like the top end and hole shot but the the constant cavitation at cruising speeds is driving me crazy. My aluminum prop did not do this. The edges of the vengeance are a little dinged not bad at all. Is there anything I can do with the prop or do I have to go to a different prop. Thanks

Re: cavitation issue

well the setup seems to work fine but for the ventilation(cavitation.
A nice respectable 6% slip.Maybe just lower the motor one hole or half a hole.

Re: cavitation issue

steelspike,

I think the motor is in the 3rd hole-have to check. Why does the ss cavitate and the aluminum didn't, I would have thought the opposite.
