Catfish galore

Went out this morning and accidently ran onto a hump, started working it and a catfish hit my H&H about 2 lbs to 3 lbs. Then two more in about 5 cast. My partner and I caught about 25 cats in two hours and had a ball. Threw all but 2 back, lunch, and hope they stay there. Biggest was 7 lb 13 oz. Never had this happen before. Anyone else had this experience.

i know this has been asked but whats a h&h ,are the catfish coming off bed there?bet theres going to be some good eating soon

We catch channel cats a lot while throwing rooster tails and blue fox's for white bass or sandies as ya'll refer to them. Problem is we aren't catching squat for sandies and the catfish are barely bigger than fiddler size. Beats catching nothing though. Sounds like you guys had a ball but were tired of skinning catfish.

Why skin cats? I always just filet them.

Tyme, My mom likes whole catfish, enjoys picking thru the bones which if cooked right is no problem. I am like you I filet mine.

Ron G, H&H is a lead head with a double hook and a reverse skirt. Comes in assorted colors, my favorites are white and yellow. Cost between $.99 and $1.29. I carry about 30 with me any time I fish. Have for about 45 years. cheap, old, out of date, low tech, catches fish.

Every time I slab for stripers on Texoma, we pull a few cats...some darn nice ones at times..

We always filet our fish but I just got in the habit of skinning catfish before I filet them. Son't do it with any other fish though. Don't know why, maybe I'm just wierd.

I skin em too, I don't think I'm too weird. Just better that way.IMHO.BWJ
