Wade around in the shallows bare-legged.

All seriousness aside, teamstromer, with the price of leeches at the bait shops I don't think it is worth the trouble to try to collect them.

Good luck on the 'eyes. :)

Ditto ^^ especially the first part :D

yea .. buy them by the pound to save a few extra sheckles.

-While on a trip you can keep them in an appropriately sized 'beverage' cooler/thermos.
-You've got to keep the water clean and oxygenated.. keep 'em out of the sunlight so they stay cool too
-Flush 'em out daily with new lake water or unsoftened tap water and drop a handfull of ice in it after you re-fill it and tighten the top back on.

Remember- dead leeches have a stink all their own. :)

1. Wire basket. Screen door mesh.

2. One opening with sharp edges on the inside exit. Very small, about 1/2", at most, opening.

3. One bloddy something. Raw chicken, beef, no matter, inside the trap.

The traps can be quite small. A 12"X12" trap will catch allot.

Believe it or not, the new way to keep leeches is in bedding, not water. Pretty much like the shredded paper worm bedding.
