I dont seem to have much luck catching shiners in the tampabay area.cant seem to find them. I chum.net.I find pin fish o.k. where are they?

locating the shiners is the problem.I dont have a tower. I can cast my net o.k

Myles, my best locations for catching "greenies" (that what we call em') are piers.. <br /><br />If you know where there are some reefs you should be able to spot large schools on your depthfinder... Drop down a sabiki rig and hang on!<br /><br />Going to the pier to catch bait before I head out in the boat is the easiest way for me.. I have two piers relatively close and thats where I go, but I must use sabiki rigs to get em' and keeping them alive at the piers is difficult but not impossible... <br /><br />Usually I use them for cut bait for bottom fishing so keeping them alive's not a concern to me... <br /><br />Good luck... :)
