I have a 16' supersport aluminum hull boat that has a broken starboard transom corner. does anyone have one or know where i might locate one. I also just purchased an 18' deep v boat today to restore for canadian fishing trips, and it has the same broken corner, so i could actually use 2 of them. Any help would be appriciated.

Years back when I was restoring old engine,s I took a piece into a foundry and had some new pieces cast, the cost was reasonable seems alot of people need the corner pieces so maybe casting some extras is the way to go.Keep what you need and sell the rest. Cheers Mike

I,m away from my Jupiter so I can,t see but think left and right pieces are the same so that would be a bonus.Maybe some other people would know how many years and models used these corner parts.

As I posted before looks like Starcraft did a lot with just one basic design longer, wider different seats,or windshields so the corners could fit alot of years and models. Some one else said Starcraft built boats for other names,so there is a possibility. Cheers Mike

To my knowledge, these do fit many different years and models. They are side specific, so the port will not work on the starboard and visa versa. You would think that someone would have started to reproduce these as it seems they are easily damaged. I will look into what it would take to have these cast and associated costs. Maybe we can get a group of people together that need these to share in the set up cost.

I am looking for a port transom corner myself. After I find and install one, maybe a rear bumper install would be in order to prevent this again!:D

Just a thought, anyone every thought about sand casting them?

I haven't done it my self but it doesn't look to difficult. I was looking at a boat where the bow cap was busted, if I had got it I was going to try to cast a new one.

I need a bow cap my self, I was thinking about having it made from machined aluminum, or find a nice peice of rubber.. my corners are good, I'd donate to have some new ones made.

Sandcasting isnt that hard I did it in Highschool granted this was back when there was still a shop class . the trick would be setting up a forge ( not to hard plans all over the web ) and gettahold of casting sand other than that some aluminum wheels cut apart to melt down in the forge and bada bing your casting.

Ummm, believe it or not, you might be able to skip the fabrication step and go ahead and buy them. I know my local dealer has a few different styles on the shelf - I would assume he's not unique in that respect. Take a gander at your local dealers...

Rats, I pass a little SS on my way to work sitting by the side of the road that could have been picked up simply because that's the only way to get the corners anymore! Of course once the corners are stripped it'd be a shame to trash the rest of the boat, then I'd have to get another for the corners, then another, then....

Oh I got it alright! Looking in backyards, yet trying to look like I'm not looking in backyards:rolleyes:. Between looking for a neglected boat tucked away and scoping to see who has a nice stack of firewood, its a wonder I can stay on the road.

And iboats, oye, iboats. Looking at the threads to see something new or someones different vision for an old boat that is different than mine, very addicting indeed.
