Hi can anyone tell us where the engine seacocks are and what position they should be in (ie open or shut) and is vertical open or shut. Also should they be open to run up the engines ?We are new to boating as you can tell
Many thanks

In most cases when discussing specific things on a boat which may be different, its best to post a pic

In most cases the seacock is a ball type valve. This means the handle should be inline with the hose when Open and cross ways when Closed. They should always be open when running the motors and are only closed when the motors need to be winterized.

The valves should be next to the sea strainer. Follow the hose from the motor

Depending on the combined backing block +hull thickness, the thru-hull fitting length may need to be reduced so it does not bottom out inside the seacock before proper compression is achieved The valve is closed when the handle is horizontal (perpendicular to the thru-hull fitting) and is open when vertical
(parallel to the thru-hull fitting).
