bobder41, you said you have been doing your own repairs on your carburted engine. If you feel you can do the work on the MPI to troubleshoot it, and carry the equiptment and parts to repair it on the water get the MPI.<br /><br />Boatis, if it doesn't start when you go to back it off the trailer you only have an wasted day, if it doesn't start or quits 40 miles offshore and you can't fix it it could get a lot worst than just a wasted day. If you boat on small inland lakes where help is close by the MPI is fine, call the tow service, but if you go very far offshore I like it to be as simple as possible to fix a problem and get home.
