Bedliner is way heavier and once you put it on you will never get it off and if it gets dinged you can't fix it, with carpet if you decide you don't like it or it gets dirty you can just change it.

I would go with carpet.

......and carpet is sooooo much cooler on bare feet !!!!
Marine grade carpet is made to get wet and resist sunlight. My vote is for the the carpet

Carpet, have you ever stepped on a black asphalt road in the hot sun, that would be the bedliner.

I would check out some of the vinyl flooring options as well.

You could check out Durabak marine coatings... A bunch of us in the resto forum have used the product with great success... You could use a coating and install snap-in carpet. My Bayliner thread link below shows all the fun details.

I would go with a nice red/white oak flooring and a smooth transition to marble in the foyer...wait...this isn't the DIY home section?!? :D

Re: carpet or bed liner

If your going to replace the carpet yourself or do the bed liner yourself you might want to consider this point. If the carpet your replacing is glued down when you remove it there is a lot of sanding and cleaning that will have to be done in order to get the floor ready to apply a bed liner. However if your going to replace the old carpet with new carpet there is far less prep work needing to be done on the floor. Also if you have hatches with carpet on them and you go with bed liner the gaps around the hatches will be bigger. Carpet takes up room.

The pros and cons as i see them are.
Carpet is usually cheaper to replace than bed liner
carpet is cooler on the feet than bed liner
carpet looks better than bed liner
carpet absorbers noise better and is a cushion to your feet

Bed liner is easier to clean than carpet
carpet only last about 6 or 7 years bed liner should last the life of the boat
carpet is more time consuming to install do to trim work

Bottom line is do what you think you will like best. It's half one half another.

I will never have carpet in any boat that I own, "bedliner" is not hot on the feet, I know my last 2 boats I've put bedliner in them. Also bedliner is so much easier to clean and will last the lifetime of your boat.

If you're fishing in saltwater, unless you like the stink of old dead fish and bait to always be on your boat I suggest you do not put carpet in it.

Don't forget to put a heating system under that marble, it gets cold on the bare feet early in the morning. Wait, this is NOT the DIY home repair section.
