Ther might be. Try some bleach in a corner to be sure it does not take off the color. Then buy a vent for your cover.

Something I have done cleaning carpets indoors is to add some bleach to the cleaning solution. I did this to prevent mildew and kill any smells that could be in there (leaky dog).

Wonder if that would work on a boat?

Products like Tilex mildew remover are primarily bleach ( sodium hypoclorite ) and water, with a little fragrance, color, and soap to make it all look mysterious.

So you can make your own. Don't over do it with the bleach. You only need about 1/2 ounce per gallon.

A better solution for this application ( carpet exposed to sunlight) would probably TSP or TSP substitute. Tri sodium phosphate.

You can still get the real thing at farm supply stores, but most hardware stores sell the tsp substitute.

Make sure you rinse it well, dry it well, and try to keep it that way.

Go to a restaurant supply outlet and get some hand sanitizer used in hand wash stations. The problem with mold is that there are strain es that will be resistant to bleach and other chemicals. So you may have to try more than One type.

A small dehumidifier might be the best long term fix.
