Carpet Cleaning & Protection

My GS-201 has snap-in carpeting that's in very good condition. I would like to take the carpeting out and thoroughly wash it. How do you wash & protect your carpets? Have you tried washing the sections in a commercial washing machine? What cleaner did you use? Thanks.

I throw mine on the driveway and use my Hoover carpet machine just like in the living room.

Thanks Georgesalmon. I don't have a Hoover carpet cleaner, but I think I'll take the carpet out and wash/scrub them on the driveway as you suggested.

I do the same. I use a carpet cleaning machine to clean them. The other options are as you suggested to scrub them by hand and use a shop vac to vacuum up the dirt and water.

The last option is look for the companies that distribute mats for businesses that they place in their entrances. They also clean mats/carpets and it may be inexpensive to go that route if you don't have a cleaner .
