I've been fighting with carpet since day one of buying my boat. Yes, it's comfortable but I am looking for other alternatives that don't need to be replaced every 3-5 years.
I considered rhino liner/LineX or other spray on liners. I'm thinking its too heavy, too expensive, too hot, too uncomfortable.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I was watching some episode of boating on ESPN outdoors and they briefly mentioned a non slip boating product made by Mossy Oak. Haven't been able to find any further info on this product as well. If anyone has had any luck with other materials I'd like to hear about them. Thanks for the help in advance.

mine has a non skid vinyl floor ('76 sea sprite
16'), but if you're applying to plywood, try a little sand/paint mix. it's how us country folk
paint porch steps and such. works best if you have
a good mixer, or paint it nice and thick, then
sprinkle the sand carefully, and give 2nd coat.
won't last more than a couple seasons, but real
easy/cheap to do over.....

I just replaced the carpet on the floor of my 16' Grumman with a product called Sarnadeck. You can find it through a google search. Now granted you have to have some DIY abilities. It is a non slip membrane that is glued to the plywood deck.
I use my boat strictly for fishing and wanted something I could just wash down after a day out.
I did kinda cheat though since I'm associated with the industry it is used most in. If you ever laid carpet of vinyl flooring you should be fine.
If you want to try the paint and sand I just read on another site where they sprinkled epson salt in the paint and then after everything dries wash off to dusolve the salt, thereby leaving non - skid impressions.

Thanks for the help guys. MLS, turns out there's a Sarnafil office here in Houston. I did see the material installed on a guide boat. It looked really good. Did the material add a ton of weight to your boat MLS?

I'm with mellow yellow on this one,
I have painted the decks of many boats using marine grade epoxy paint. We paint on one coat and while its still wet, we sprinkle on non skid (iron filings), obtainable at paint stores. Afterwards, we lay down the top coat.
This method sounds crude but works and looks remarkably well, if you take time to do a neat job.

It wieghs the same or less than carpet. Bad thing is if you need to make a seam it is done with an electric hot air welder (industrial strength hair dryer)and a neoprene roller. Good thing if done properly the sheet becomes monolithic.
You could also use crushed walnut shells in the epoxy paint.
