I've read a couple articles this past week about using a Carolina Rig for Crappie fishing. I'll be heading out this weekend and I thought I'd rig a couple poles this way.
Anybody use this method?
Any tricks you care to share?

Well, crappies set up in the water looking up for bait fish and jigs, never have caught one on the bottom, and I have caught very many of them.Slip bobber and minnows are my way.Under a green submersible light. With a coleman latern and latern rod stuck in a rod holder over the side.Feeds the baitfish and other fish with bugs, and keeps them off you.Have fun.

Your the third person that has mentioned the green light down under.
I've also been fishing slip bobber with minnow and I've had a fair amount of success.
I have a couple glow sticks, what do ya think? I think I'll give them a try.
I've seen the green lights in the bass masters catalog. I've been looking for an excuse to put a second battery in the bow, this just may that reason.

Yes you should have a second battery.Just incase.I wouls go to Walmart for the light, about $20 dollars. The light brings in shad and minnows, millions of them,I like watching the light as much as catching fish, kinda, lol. When it starts getting things coming, mostly plankton, and them first couple of minnows come to eat it,it is like watching the Discovery channel. Then when the shad start coming you see the fish picking them off,one by one. Then it is time to fish.Go for it,it is great.
