carburetor rebuild kit for 1983 Force 85HP 856X3L

I couldn't seem to find the info after doing a forum search or at boats.net.

I'm thinking I want to fix my "starts only when tilted" problem by, as many have suggested, re-building the carbs.

What kit do I need? Where can I find them? Tips on how to go about installing the kit?

These are part kits directly from Mercury, and can be bought from any Merc dealer, local or online.

Thanx for the speedy reply.
I forgot to check with dougrussell.com.

I'm checking to see if the FK10177 kit already includes all the gaskets from the FK10178 kit. Looking at the price difference, it seems like it should.

Never done a carb rebuild before.
Is it just a straight "find and replace with parts from the kit" process or are there some tips and tricks?

You can call chrysler outboard motors directly instead of using the middle man and paying the middle man first. Their number is: 1-800-637-2879 and their consumer service is at: (1-902-929-5040 and option 3 for outboard motors) hope this helps you out. I have the exact same motor.
