Carburetor Quetions

I have a 40hp yammy four stroke and a 25hp 2 stroke, I want to put some fogging spray into the carb. Im new at this so can someone expain where and how to spray it in the carb. Do I need to take off the cover etc. The directions are vauge to me. Thanks!

you just spray it in the front of the carb, into the mouth while running until it starts fogging (lots of smoke) try to keep the engine running as long as you can (increase throttle) that way the oil will get all over the oil thirsty parts also when done take your spark plugs out and spray some in there and turn it over a couple of times, then poor two stroke oil into the cylanders (if it is a two stroke, if it is a four skip that part) then put the plugs back in. Finaly spray the whole engine with fogging oil.<br /><br />GOOD LUCK

Hey Sloopy, why pour 2 cycle fuel into the cylinders? Don't you think the heavy fog spray is enough?

Stauter - Best bet for you is to go to your local library and spend some time in the reference section. Most libraries will have a number of outboard shop manuals. They will cover the basics and have pictures and diagrams that will help.
