Hi, I've got an old (1969) SeaKing 7.0 (Clinton) motor. I've got a Mikuni fuel pump that has replaced the original. For some reason, the float vent is sometimes squirting fuel from the carb.

I lowered the float level, doesn't seem to help.
If I pump the primer bulb until the float bowl is full, the needle and seat stops the fuel as one would expect. There is no fuel overflow, telling me that the needel and seat are working properly.

I doubt that this problem has much to do with the model and make, so I'd like to hear from anyone who might have had a problem like this and how they solved it. I'm running out of ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Big Muddy

Re: Carburetor Question.

Does it slobber gas out the carb vent consistently...like all the time? It only takes a small bit of grime/grit to defeat the needle/seat in the carb, but its apparently seating. If it doesn't slobber gas out the vent while running, I wouldn't worry about it...try not to overload the carb with gas when you're pumping up the primer bulb. Once it firms up, let it be. A photo of the powerhead, carb and pump might help find the answer if the problem persists.
