I am cleaning the model KB Tillitson carburetor and having trouble loosening the brass screw for the main nozzle, the idle tube, and the passage plug. I do not want to strip them or chew the heads off. Does anyone know a way to get them out without damaging them or the main body?? Do I really need to get them out in order to blow out the passages with compressed air? <br /> The fuel pump needed a new diaphragm in it. I noticed when I took the fuel pump apart there was one gasket and the diaphragm. In the fuel pump kit I have two new gaskets besides the diaphragm. Is there supposed to be a gasket on either side of the diaphragm? It is a very small fuel pump that has a vacuum line attached to the crankcase and it uses the powerhead piston to draw the diaphragm in and out. The part number for the fuel pump diaphragm repair kit is 31503A1 for 1968 Mercury model 39. Thanks
