Carburetor air filter

My engine is a 1985 Mercury 50hp. 4cyl. with 2 carburetors. Are there factory or after
market carburetor air filters for this engine? I don't like to run any engine without an
air filter on the carburetor but it seems like a lot of outboards don't use them.

Dust and dirt are land problems rarely seen on the water. You don't need one, the cowling does a good enough job on it's own.
