Working on my 1970 1150, still trying to get it to ilde properly messing around with the idle/air screws. The books say that turning the air idle screw counter clock wise richens the carbs while turning the screw clockwise leans the mixture. Some of the posts I've seen has it opposite. Can some one confirm which direction leans and richens the fuel mixture?

Thanks,

Straight from the Seloc Manual

Clockwise = Lean
Counter Clockwise = Rich

In order to adjust them correctly you must have

Engine engaged if forward gear in a body of water and the engine warmed to operating temperature.

From there adjust the idle to 650 rpms in forward gear.

You need to adjust them half way between lean and rich points.

ditto madman...

Start at 1-1/2 turns from lightly seated. If the engine stalls when you drop her in gear, richen up each carb's screw approx. 1/8" at a time until she no longer bogs whn accelerating.
