Rochester 2 barrel carb. Just rebuilt my carb and after starting the motor the choke will not open on its own, I have to hold it open to keep motor running. Does this mean the choke spring has to much tension on it?

Or you missed the line-up on the bi-metal spring and the lever. Pull the choke cover and check it.

Electric choke or heat-riser? What engine (and serial number or year)... I can then look up the right diagram and be able to advise better...

My original statement stands... Missed the linkage in the choke housing... (My first guess)

Re: Carburator question

Yes it is. The tension on the choke flap seems to be to much because it will not open on its own.
