Carburator Float bowls (Floatt Chambers) for 98 200 Ocean Pro

My 98 200 Ocean Pro needs the carbs rebuilt, it runs but slobbers on itself afterwards, I get a fuel mixture of oil and gas that puddles in the lower motor pan under the carbs, leaks down the motor leg. I can locate the rebuild kits ok, but these motors are notorious for getting cracks in their carb bowls (float chambers) as they age. So I may have to replace these too.
The part number for the float chamber is 439180, but I can't find it anywhere. Some people say they are no longer available.
Anybody have any suggestions where these can be found?

think a trip to a reputable dealer might be needed. I believe from seeing a few missives here that aluminum bowls might be available spanning a number of years, also that there can be an issue with proper boring/threading for correct jets. Maybe a couple of searches here would be informational (prior threads).

CaptErich, I just entered that part number into google search and it came up with a few place that are selling them for around $15 dollars a pop. Have you searched on here at the iboats parts store. When searching for parts, enter the 0 to the part number because that is how Johnson lists them. So look for part number 0439180 and see what you find. JMHO

I got home from work last night, and the motor had fuel slobber down her leg again, That's It! I popped the engine cover and removed the port lower cowl. I was gonna get to the bottom of this once and for all.
I squeezed the bulb and the culprit revealed it self, one of the middle carbs was leaking fuel out of the orifice hole just below the carb throat, everything else was tight. I surmise this is a stuck float, so I removed it from the motor, Plugged the fuel supply hose and ordered a carb rebuild kit.
Thank Goodness the Float chambers are in good shape, but I was preparing for the worst.

GM280 - I had my local Johnson dealer do a nationwide dealer stock search for this part, there were none. Not for the Big V-6s, but for the smaller ones and everybody else. Your Google search was more successful than mine, the ones I did find said they were NLA, but thanks for looking.

Sorry, I just plugged in your part number and found marine places listing that fuel bowl. But I had to put the 0 in front of the part number as well. And the fuel bowls I seen were not metal but looked like a plastic or phenolic type material. Any way, glad you located your problem and don't need them. Let us know how this works out. :thumb:
