Carb Rochester 4MV
Last seasons I had paid for a complete Tune-Up and the Mecanic broked the Choke Rod when adjusting the Carb Choke. He told me that I don't really need a choke, he said all the SpeedBoats does not have chokes. I said just jurk the throttle and the engine will start no problem. I thrusted him. Last summer I had lots of problem starting my engine, I was floatting it most often. Now I want to buy the choke rod to install it. My problem is that NAPA, Car Quest and boat shops don't have the part available.
My question is can I make myself a Choke Rod ?
I do not have the broken part, Is there drawing available for Rod Gauge, Lenght.
ThankYou

Ayuh,... Don's shown ya where to find the part, But,...
Yer story leads me to question the Rest of the "Tune Up" this supposed "Mechanic" did for ya...

I mean, He broke yer carb, 'n he Tuned the motor,...
Then the motor don't start for the summer....

The choke is only useful for the 1st start of the day usually...
The rest of the day, a warm, Just Tuned motor, should start at the touch of the key....

Makes Me wonder whether the Problem is the lack of a workin' choke,...
Or the lack of Talent of yer "Mechanic",..??

Just sayin',......

Bond-O, I got shafted by the supposed Mecanic like you wrote, can't find him anymore.
I thought I had made a good deal.

Once you get the link, head for your local autoparts store, they should be able to fix you up with a clip that will work.

Any automotive repair shop that does performance or classic repair will have any carb part you need.
